Project Description
SD Spartans MSU Annual Day of Service Activity: Helping Restore the Trails Around Chollas Lake
Organization: City of San Diego Parks and Recreation
Date: April 13, 2024
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: Chollas Lake Park, 6350 College Grove Drive, SD, CA 92115
Meeting Time: Meet at 8:45am in the parking lot
Bring: Work Gloves & Water Bottle
Age Minimum (with Adult): 5+, Minimum Age:14+

Description of service: Help Park Rangers restore the trails around Chollas Lake to improve walking paths and conserve our natural habitats.
Tasks: collecting cut and fallen branches, reshaping and restoring the trail using hoes, picks, shovels and other hand equipment, removing invasive species, and using a wheelbarrow to transfer removed items to the proper disposal location.

3) Waiver: All volunteers will be required to sign the City of San Diego's liability waiver when they arrive or can be filled out in advance here:

- Must be 5 years or older
- Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult
- Attire: Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Bring: Work gloves and a water bottle. Physical Requirements: Volunteers should expect bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for the duration of the project.? Unfortunately this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and the space where this project takes place is not wheelchair accessible.
