KZOO Spartans Global Day of Service at Pretty Lake Camp

Project Description

Nature of Service: The KZOO Spartans will be helping the Pretty Lake Camp Farm (www.prettylakecamp.org/farm) prepare for the 2014 camp season. The nature of service will be light to moderate physical labor. We will be helping to clean and prepare the barn and farm grounds for the season. Expect to be moving materials, raking, sweeping, etc. We will be helping to construct building cold frames and mini-hoop houses. Date: Saturday, April 12, 2014 Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location: Pretty Lake Camp Farm Special Instructions: What to wear… Work Clothes What to bring… Work Gloves, Water, Non-alcohol Beverages, snacks How to get there… The KZOO Spartans will be volunteering at the Pretty Lake Camps farm. The farm is located off of South 3rd Street on the PLC grounds. The entrance for the farm is just west of the PLC main entrance at 9123 West Q Avenue. Look for signage directing you to the farm. Post Event Gathering: Fletchers Pub in Texas Corners. Parking/Where to Go: How to get there… The KZOO Spartans will be volunteering at the Pretty Lake Camps farm. The farm is located off of South 3rd Street on the PLC grounds. The entrance for the farm is just west of the PLC main entrance at 9123 West Q Avenue. Look for signage directing you to the farm. Directions from Oakland Drive & West Centre Avenue in Portage, MI to the Pretty Lake Camp Farm… -Take West Centre Avenue West (towards 131 & Texas Corners). -Continue on to West Q Avenue. -Turn South (Left) onto ACPL Drive / South 3rd Street. -Turn West (Right) at the first right turn into the ‘Farm Drive’. -Head to the big barn, turn Right (North) when you pass the barn. -Park on the North side of the big barn.
