Project Description

A little about us... Our farm has been row cropped for over 120 years. Our mission of our farm is to take our farm from row cropping and have it be healthy and whole again. We are in the beginning stages of restoring our farm back to its natural state through planting native prairie grasses and through the use of bison (at present we have 34!). We want to bring wildlife back that use to once thrive on our farmland. To help our land heal from all the abuse, plowing, chemicals, and GMO's it has gotten over a 100 years. To teach and educate the public, to give the public a chance to come and enjoy country life for a day or more and to produce healthy and humane food. Jobs for the day depending on weather... Job number one will be in our woods preparing them for pigs. We would be out in the woods cleaning and collecting branches and dead trees to be chipped. Also, we would be putting portable fencing up for the pigs. Job number two would be helping restore a couple of barns to be reused as a hay barn and as a barn for agro-tourism. We would be fixing holes, taking down stalls and saving wood to be reused in repairs.
